This is my second visit. I came to get tires on front of my truck. I arrive a little too late to have it done. The young lady was nice and set me up for another appointment tomorrow morning.
Parking lot was moderately lit. Could use brighter lights to improve visibility and safety. The lot was a little dirty. Inside the store was clean. The counter at the front was a bit dim as though a bulb was out. The rest of the store by was well lit. The personnel was friendly and helpful. I didn't have to wait long for assistance at the parts counter. Unfortunately, I had to wait 15 min at the tire counter before someone came. I thought no one was working there until the young lady came in from outside.
I can't express enough how apprecitative I am of the staff working in the bay last Thursday night, 10/19 (I regret that I didn't get the name of the gentleman who helped me).
Pep Boys saved the day for me last Thursday. Thanks very much for your "above average" customer service and for going above and beyond!
I make a appointment at this pepboys the day before, the next day I drive 40 min to the pepboys in Landover MD. I walk in the door and was greeted by a women who was stuffing food in her mouth... I then advised I had a appointment, this women continued to stuff food in her mouth as she states " what's your name " I told her my name at witch Time she advised " your not in the computer " I then Explained to her that I made a appointment the day before and they advised me to come in at 8 this morning. The lady said, as she had a mouth full of food " well your names not in the computer and your going have to wait 4 hours" I then left the store and went to MR. Tire with no appointment was out of there in 45 min with 4 new tires at a cheaper price. I'll never go to pepboys again for anything.
Beware: do not let them touch your engine. My car went in fine and next could barely drive as before. No accountability.
The gentleman who helped me was very kind and could have very easily told me I was out of luck. Instead, he stayed late to help me pull the old battery and replace it with the new one.
Went in for an alignment and was told my front pads and rotors needed to be replaced (an extra $400). When I asked them to show me the condition of the rotors, the mechanic said it was in the inside of the rotor. Both the inside and outside of both front rotors were clean, smooth and had barely any (less than 1 mm) depth with respect to the edges. I plan to get a second opinion on the pads, but I suspect that they will not be the 2/32” that I was told they were.
I was in a bad spot... dead battery. Walmart was sold out of the correct size but gave me a jumpstart. Unfortunately I arrived to Pep Boys about 20 minutes after their garage closed. After explaining my situation, the folks agreed to help me change the battery if I went inside to purchase the new one.
